Full disclosure: I could have done this last year.
Don’t know why I didn’t, honestly.
However, now that every Professional Hockey Writers Association member’s NHL Awards ballot is, by rule, now public, I figured I would post mine and explain some of my reasoning for why I voted the way I did.
What follows should be fairly intuitive. Remember that voting only takes into account the regular season, and we don’t vote on such awards as the Vezina (goaltender) and Jack Adams (coach).
Finalists are listed one through five. I didn’t feel the need to do a detailed breakdown of the All-Star teams, as there’s plenty here already.
