The Penguins have named another former player, in this case Scott Young, to succeed Mark Recchi as director of player development. Recchi was recently promoted to assistant coach.
In a Friday morning announcement, they also announced the additions of Jarrod Skalde as player development coach and Brendan Sullivan as goaltending development coach.
Young, who helped the Penguins win their first Stanley Cup, in 1991, is the marquee name.
He played 16 seasons in the NHL and also won a Cup with Colorado in 1996. In 1,181 games with six franchises, Young, 49, produced 342 goals and 757 points.
