The Penguins are worth $560 million, according to a franchise valuation released by Forbes this morning.
That places them No. 11 among NHL franchises and is $5 million less than Forbes’ valuation of the the Penguins last season.
The franchise announced in June it was exploring sale options. Team owners Mario Lemieux and Ron Burkle are reportedly seeking $750 million for the team.
The New York Rangers are No. 1, at $1.2 billion.
Forbes says the average NHL club is worth $505 million, a 3 percent increase from a year ago.
The Penguins’ revenue in 2014-15 was pegged at $151 million, their operating income at $20.
