Dumoulin has ankle surgery, out 8 weeks minimum

Brian Dumoulin underwent successful surgery at UPMC Presbyterian on Sunday morning to repair lacerated tendons in his ankle, the Penguins announced.

Dumoulin is expected to be sidelined for at least eight weeks.

The surgery was performed by team physician, Dr. Dharmesh Vyas, in collaboration with Dr. MaCalus Hogan and Dr. John Fowler.

Dumoulin suffered his injury in Saturday night's loss to the Blues in St. Louis in the first shift of the game. He was tangled up behind the net with Blues forward Zach Sanford, and appeared to be reaching for his left ankle after:

Saturday's game marked 100 total man games lost for the Penguins this season in just their 27th game.
