Derick Brassard returns to Penguins practice, seems likely to play in Game 1

The Penguins will likely be at full strength — or at least very close to it — when the playoffs open Wednesday night against Philadelphia.

Derick Brassard, who missed the final five games of the regular season with a lower-body injury, was a full participant in the team’s practice Monday morning at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex in Cranberry.

Mike Sullivan declined to explicitly say whether he expected Brassard to be available for Game 1 against the Flyers, but all signs point to him being good to go.

“Derick had a good practice today,” Sullivan said.
