TORONTO – Looking to give the 2016 World Cup of Hockey a letter grade?
How about a C, right across the board?
Canada. Crosby. Champions.
Pretty much covers it.
Canada’s 2-1 victory over Europe in Game 2 of the championship round tonight at the Air Canada Centre gave it a 6-0 record in the World Cup.
Still, it would hardly be accurate to suggest that Canada’s victory was as inevitable as a sunrise, which is what many observers had expected.
Europe had a 1-0 lead with less than three minutes to go in regulation, before Canada got special-teams goals from Boston teammates Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand to salvage the victory.
