An honest to goodness game!

This hasn’t been an official bye week, the players have had practices and no vacation, but for fans it’s been a long week since we last saw the Penguins on the ice to play an honest to goodness NHL hockey game.

Monday morning Pittsburgh had 74 points in the standings with 61 games played. The division-leading Washington Capitals had 75 points with 59 games played. Exhibit A why games in hand are only valuable when you actually win can be found in the standings chart this morning.

The Flyers are pretending to be good which is weird but the division is basically wide open with 21 games left for all the principle parties.
