I brought a few important things home from my short stint at the Orange County Register in 2013. One is my car, picked up on the cheap from a lot in dusty Corona, Calif. Another is a deep longing for Bruxie waffle sandwiches and smooth commutes to Newport Beach on the 55 freeway.
But relevant to the purposes of this sports column, I left The OC last January with a genuine appreciation for the Anaheim don’t-call-them-Mighty Ducks and the way they’ve managed their organization as stars Corey Perry and Ryan Getzlaf enter their 30s.
