A great year, but no Lou Marsh Trophy for Sidney Crosby

Here’s an abridged version of Sidney Crosby’s accomplishments during 2016, heading into the Penguins’ game against Boston at 7:38 tonight at PPG Paints Arena.

He has:

• Captained the Penguins to the Stanley Cup and received the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP for his efforts.

• Led Canada to the championship of the World Cup tournament in September, again picking up MVP honors.

• Scored a league-high 21 goals in his first 23 appearances of the 2016-17 season, becoming just the fourth NHL player in the past 20 years to score at least that many goals in his first 21 games.
