Several Panthers on FWAA 75th Anniversary All-American College Football Teams

Pitt has had a long history of producing NFL stars and recently, the school earned some more recognition in that department. A few days ago, the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) released its 75th Anniversary All-American teams and the Panthers were well represented.

In all, there were three teams and Pitt produced five players on the list. That tied Ohio State for second-most among all colleges. Nebraska led the way with six players.

Larry Fitzgerald was Pitt's lone first-team representative, further cementing his place as one of college football's all-time great wide receivers. The Panthers dominated the second team with Tony Dorsett, Mike Ditka, Bill Fralic, and Hugh Green.
