Pitt men’s soccer team cancels games due to COVID protocols

The Pitt men’s soccer team, which is currently ranked No. 1 in the country, has halted all team activities and canceled its two remaining regular-season games in accordance with COVID-related protocols, according to a statement from Pitt on Wednesday afternoon.

The two games that have been canceled include the team’s penultimate matchup of the season, a tilt with Notre Dame that was set for Friday, and what would have been the regular-season finale against Syracuse on Nov. 6.

Both of the games were home rematches at Ambrose Urbanic Field against opponents Pitt previously beat on the road, as the Panthers dispatched the Fighting Irish 3-1 in South Bend on Sept.
