It took four tries, but the Pitt baseball team finally has its first series win of the season. The Panthers took two out of three games against Virginia over the weekend and it was also the first time the team defeated the Cavaliers in a series since joining the ACC.
Pitt got off to a slow start after losing the opener on Friday, 10-7. But a 7-5 win on Saturday and a 4-1 victory in Game 3 on Sunday gave the Panthers the series victory.
Offense was the name of the game in the first two matchups but Sunday was more of a pitchers duel.
