Patrick Jones II named Bednarik Player of the Week

Pitt defensive end Patrick Jones II put on a performance to remember in Pitt’s 23-20 win over Louisville, and for his efforts, he was named the Chuck Bednarik Award Player of the Week by the Maxwell Football Club on Tuesday. The honor is given to the top defensive player in the nation on a weekly basis.

After a quiet couple of weeks, Jones came up with three sacks against the Cardinals, which was enough to give him the team lead for the day and tie him with Rashad Weaver for the team lead on the season.
