Pat Narduzzi and Ben DiNucci give conflicting statements on playing time

Pitt’s quarterback situation has been, in short, a mess all season. The Panthers got disappointing play from starter Max Browne earlier this year before replacing him with Ben DiNucci. When DiNucci struggled, Pitt turned back to Browne, only to see him play well before suffering a season-ending injury. In last weekend’s loss to Syracuse, the Panthers were forced to play true freshman Kenny Pickett for the game’s final play after DiNucci inadvertently lost his helmet and, by rule, had to exit the game.

The Panthers’ quarterback situation took another strange twist in Saturday’s loss to NC State. In that game, Pickett relieved DiNucci, despite the game being close and DiNucci playing relatively well.
