Pitt’s No. 3 volleyball team had a challenging first set but then cruised to another sweep, defeating Syracuse, 3-0. The win keeps the Panthers perfect in the ACC at 5-0 and moves them to 16-1 overall.
I was stunned when I saw that Syracuse was only 4-7 on the year based on how they played in the first set. It was tight the entire way and Syracuse actually held a 24-23 lead. But the Panthers stormed back to win three straight points and narrowly took the set, 26-24. Pitt nearly fell apart at the end of the set and the offense was completely out of sync.
