The No. 12 Pitt wrestling team suffered its first loss of the season, falling to No. 4 NC State, 27-6.
The Panthers (3-1) won only two bouts on the day and, well, basically anything that could go wrong did for Pitt. Pitt honestly did not get off to a terrible start. Pitt’s Colton Camacho lost to heavily favored Jakob Camacho at 125 pounds, 13-5, but only gave up a single bonus point, which wasn’t too bad. At 133 pounds, No. 4 Micky Philippi won his bout, but only with a close 4-2 victory over Jarrett Trombley. That made the team score 4-3 in favor of NC State (4-0).
