Per Chris Peak of Panther Lair, Coppin State guard Sterling Smith is transferring to Pitt to finish out his collegiate career. The incoming senior averaged just under 14 points and 5 rebounds per game for the Eagles, good enough to be their leading scorer and second best rebounder. Smith is a much needed addition with the impending transfer of Durand Johnson and the graduation of Cam Wright.
What will Smith bring? Scoring and a deep touch. Smith shot 41.8% from behind the arc, which would’ve been the best at Pitt amongst players averaging more than 2 minutes per game (sorry Luther and Ko).
