On Thursday, Panthers pitcher T.J. Zeuch made history as he became the program's highest draft pick of all time after going No. 21 overall to the Toronto Blue Jays in the first round. Pitt's baseball program got their second draft pick on Friday when shortstop Charles Leblanc was taken 129th overall in the fourth round by the Texas Rangers.
Leblanc was the top position player for the Panthers in 2016 with a monster season. His .409 batting average led the entire ACC and was 13th in the nation. He led the team in hits, runs, average, RBI, on-base percentage, and assists, and that propelled him to an All-ACC First Team selection.
