Third quarter dooms Phoenix Suns in scrimmage loss to Boston Celtics

Boston powered past Phoenix, 117-103, in Sunday's second scrimmage of the NBA restart on the strength of a late third-quarter run at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex's Visa Athletic Center in Florida.

Tied at 79-79 with 4:26 left in the third quarter, the Celtics went on a 15-0 run as Dario Saric was out with an ankle injury suffered late in the first half while Deandre Ayton, Devin Booker and Mikal Bridges were each out with four fouls for the Suns.

Phoenix missed eight straight shots during that stretch before rookie Ty Jerome ended the drought with an end-to-end basket at the quarter buzzer.
