The Los Angeles Lakers remain interested in Trevor Ariza, but aren’t giving up any of their young talent to get the Phoenix Suns veteran forward.
NBA.com, via Los Angeles Times, reported Thursday morning the Lakers won’t part ways with Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart or Kyle Kuzma in exchange for Ariza. Phoenix reportedly tried to acquire one of those players and also rejected a three-team deal involving the Lakers.
With the Suns needing a point guard, Ball would seem to have been the player they'd want.
The Suns can trade Ariza starting Saturday. The current NBA Collective Bargaining Agreement states: a free agent who signs a contract cannot be traded for three months following the date the contract is signed or until December 15, whichever is later.
