Suns show fight, take moral victory in narrow loss to Warriors

Golden State didn’t crush Phoenix this time.

In fact, the Suns, without their top two scorers, led by as many as 17 points Friday night after losing by 20 and 23, respectively, in their first two games against the defending NBA champions.

They earned the Warriors' respect, too.

“Give the Suns credit,” Golden State guard Klay Thompson said. “They’re undermanned, but the played extremely hard. They’re well coached.”

Then Golden State, as it has done many times, flipped the switch to go on a 23-6 run in the fourth quarter in putting away Phoenix, 117-107, at Talking Stick Resort Arena.
