Élie Okobo grew up in Bordeaux, France waking up early in the morning to watch fellow Frenchman and idol Tony Parker and the San Antonio Spurs.
“Saturday mornings waking up before I go to the game and watch the Spurs play,” Okobo said. “With the national team also. Tony Parker was an example for me as a kid and now I just played against him for the first time.”
Okobo got to play against Parker for the first time on Sunday night when the Charlotte Hornets came to Phoenix to take on the Suns.
