Arizona Veterans Memorial Coliseum will be used as an "voting center and early voting ballot drop location" in hopes of encouraging Phoenix and Maricopa County residents to vote, the Phoenix Suns announced Tuesday.
Suns team owner Robert Sarver, All-Star Devin Booker and second-year player Mikal Bridges are part of a task force that's worked closing with state and county officials to establish "a broad reaching voter engagement initiative" for the Nov. 3 election with "safe and socially distanced voting" being a high priority amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The coliseum is located at 19th Avenue and McDowell Road, at the site of the Arizona State Fair, which has been postponed this fall because of the COVID-19 situation.
