Solar Panel, ep. 104: Bob Young takes us down memory lane to the best of 90s

A special episode for all of you listeners!

Bob Young was the Arizona Republic beat writer for 13 years covering the Phoenix Suns, from just before Charles Barkley arrived to just before Steve Nash came back on a big free agent deal. After that, Bob ceded the grind of the beat to Paul Coro but still hung around as a columnist off and on for the Republic all through the Nash years and is now back as a writer for The Athletic.

We talk about the differences in the Suns front office between the 90s, 2000s and today — how dealing with those folks has changed over the years and how it’s much easier being “available” when the team is a winner.
