Phoenix Suns to stage public scrimmage at Veterans Memorial Coliseum

Veterans Memorial Coliseum will get a chance to be the Madhouse on McDowell one more time.

The Suns' training camps usually conclude with a free intrasquad scrimmage for the public but this year's camp in Flagstaff had a conflict with a Northern Arizona football game on Oct. 3, the Suns camp's concluding Saturday.

So as part of how the Suns' new "WeArePHX" campaign embraces the Suns' status as the Valley's original pro team and the only one with "Phoenix" on the jersey, the Suns will hold an Oct. 3 public intrasquad scrimmage at the Coliseum. The franchise played at the arena located at the Arizona State Fairgrounds from its inaugural 1968-69 season until the team moved into its current building for the 1992-93 season.
