Phoenix Suns: Monty Williams expected to coach Wednesday's game after missing practice for personal reasons

The Phoenix Suns have been without head coach Monty Williams the last two practices for a personal matter, Suns officials confirmed Tuesday.

Williams is expected to coach Wednesday's game against Oklahoma City (7-9) in the first of a home back-to-back, Suns officials said.

The Suns (8-7) play Golden State (9-8) on Thursday in Kelly Oubre Jr.'s first game against Phoenix since the Chris Paul trade.

Phoenix has lost four of its last five games after dropping two to Denver in a home back-to-back Friday and Saturday with both games going into overtime.

"We start these games pretty upright, throwing our first punch," Suns center Deandre Ayton said, in talking about the importance of finishing games strong.
