The last time the Suns made the playoffs was 2010. It was the second year of the worsening financial crisis. Homes were being foreclosed in record numbers. That same year, the BP Deepwater Horizon oil platform exploded contaminating much of the Gulf Coast. And Congress passed the Affordable Care Act–better known as Obamacare.
We’re not talking decades here. (Be thankful you’re not a Buffalo Bills fan. That NFL franchise hasn’t seen the postseason this century.) But… in 2010 Justin Bieber was still on the top of the music charts. Eww.
False hope, unfulfilled promises and an occasional flirt with the postseason was all the Suns fans had come to know since the Nash-Stoudemire run came to an end.
