Gabriel Olvera didn’t seem like someone who has gone through so much in a short time to Deandre Ayton.
“This is my first time really encountering a kid in that situation,” Ayton said. “I just went with the flow and his energy is amazing. Normal kid to me.”
Olvera underwent a heart procedure 27 weeks into his mom’s pregnancy with him and has had two open-heart surgeries since being born, but the 8-year-old is living his life like any other kid.
