NEW YORK – Deandre Ayton denied Ricky Rubio a triple double by gobbling up every rebound Thursday night.
“I stole some of his boards by accident,” Ayton said with his hand over his face. “It was on accident. I kept on apologizing. I didn’t know how many rebounds I was getting. I knew he had two boards left, but I forgot. He was like, ‘Me, me, me,’ and I was like, ‘Oh, I’m sorry bro.’”
No worries.
Rubio and everyone else with the Suns will take Ayton delivering a 20-20 performance of 26 points, a season high, and a career-high 21 rebounds every time.
