Opinion: NBA players have chance to turn monumental moment into lasting game changer for America

LeBron James will no doubt remain a major and powerful part of the biggest push for change in America since the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s.

He's the Martin Luther King Jr. for today's NBA players looking to address social injustice, racial equality and police brutality that took an even uglier turn when a white police officer shot Jacob Blake, who is Black, seven times in the back Aug. 23 in Wisconsin.

The shooting led to the Milwaukee Bucks boycotting their playoff game. More playoff games were postponed as meetings took place in the Orlando Bubble with players, coaches and owners that got heated, but a final conclusion was reached.
