It has been well documented this year that Deandre Ayton has not been great on defense. After every Phoenix Suns loss, unfair or not, his play on that side of the ball is picked apart with clips going around showing his shortcomings.
Recently though, there have been new videos that show his potential as a defender. The team may have found a new formula to bring out the best in him on that side of the ball.
The last few games should give hope, not confidence in Ayton’s ability to become an above average defender, especially after how he fared against two of the league’s best players.
