Richard Holmes thought his son could be an elite athlete. Richaun Holmes knew he could be. They just disagreed on one minor detail: the sport.
"He was really good at bowling," Richard told The Republic. "I thought he and my other son, Richard, were going to be professional bowlers.
"And then one day when they (were) young, I said, 'Let's go bowling,' but basketball season had started. And he said, 'No ... I think I wanna do basketball.'
"And I said, 'You don't want to do bowling?! C'mon! You can do bowling!
