Maybe playing with a little bit of vengeance on their minds from the Christmas Day blowout loss, the Phoenix Suns increased their winning streak to seven games with a 132-109 victory over the Dallas Mavericks.
After initially trailing by as much as 16, the Suns began to turn things around near the midpoint of the 2nd quarter. By halftime, the 16-point deficit had turned into just 1, promising an interesting second half.
But the Suns had other plans. Rolling with the momentum that they captured in the 2nd quarter, the Suns outscored the Mavericks 43-20 in the 3rd.
