D-League's NAZ Suns to open season in Prescott

There is a backcourt featuring familiar Suns names Booker and Shaq (Askia Booker and Shaquille Harrison), a Sun making his pro debut (Derrick Jones Jr.), a local touch (Grand Canyon’s Daniel Alexander and Mesa Mountain View’s Asaad Woods) and NBA seasoning (ex-Jazz guard Elijah Millsap and ex-Bucks power forward Johnny O’Bryant).

The makeup of the Northern Arizona Suns adds intrigue to invention. About 90 miles north of Talking Stick Resort Arena, the Phoenix Suns’ D-League franchise – dubbed NAZ – will start its inaugural season Saturday night with a 7 p.m. game against Iowa at the Prescott Valley Event Center.
