Phoenix Suns fans have been hoping that James Jones and company could find a third star to place next to up-and-comers Devin Booker and Deandre Ayton.
Not only would the third star make the Suns competitive, but would potentially (at least arguably) vault them into the playoff conversation right away, while (almost most importantly) immediately making them a fun team to follow once again.
Many hoped that that third star could have somehow been acquired on draft day, and some hoped that he could have been had in the free agent acquisition of D’Angelo Russell at the start of free agency.
