Coyotes routed by Flames in return home from successful road trip

After winning three of four games on their recent road trip, the Coyotes were unable to carry that momentum back home as they suffered a 5-2 loss to the Calgary Flames on Tuesday at Gila River Arena.

Flames forward Michael Frolik scored just 2:11 into the first period, assisted by teammate and former Coyotes forward Zac Rinaldo. Coyotes defenseman Jordan Oesterle turned the puck over in his own zone and the Flames converted on the ensuing 2-on-1.

Diminutive winger Johnny Gaudreau scored less than two minutes later for the Flames, one-timing a puck cleanly past Coyotes goaltender Antti Raanta for a 2-0 lead.
