Coyotes players react to having fans in seats for opener at Gila River Arena

With only a handful of teams in the NHL playing in front of paying customers, Arizona Coyotes players felt fortunate to have some fans cheering them on Thursday night in their season opener at Gila River Arena.

And while there is no certainty it will continue throughout the entire 28-game home schedule, the Coyotes can't wait to see the fans again at future home games.

Forward Clayton Keller, who scored a late third period goal to spark the Coyotes' comeback to force overtime, said he and some teammates had friends in the stands.

"It was awesome.
