NHL training camps have looked more and more like freshmen orientation the past few years amid a spike in teenagers and recent draft picks on rosters, and the Coyotes have helped stoke that youth movement.
This season isn’t likely to be any different.
While the Coyotes have made it known jobs will be earned, not earmarked, it certainly looks like at least a few rookies will crack their initial lineup based on readiness, positional need and the life cycle of the organization, as Arizona is continuing to rebuild with youngsters.
And winger Clayton Keller is poised to headline the next class of newcomers.
