Arizona Coyotes surrender another lead in loss to Columbus Blue Jackets

After jumping out to a 2-1 lead in the second period, the Coyotes fell flat, losing 3-2 to the Columbus Blue Jackets on Thursday at Gila River Arena.

The Blue Jackets opened the scoring just 14 seconds into the game when Gustav Nyquist tipped a wicked puck past Coyotes goaltender Darcy Kuemper for a 1-0 Columbus lead.

But the Coyotes responded at the 11:24 mark when Carl Soderberg cleaned up a rebound that found its way past Blue Jackets goaltender Joonas Korpisalo for the equalizer.

Coyotes defenseman Ilya Lyubushkin launched the initial shot, which ricocheted off Korpisalo's pads and right to Soderberg, who was all alone in the left circle.
