The Union head into their first regular season game Sunday night, facing off against Vancouver Whitecaps at 9:30 ET on TCN. Here are three things to watch before the season opener.

Team often want to assert themselves early in a game to set the tone. Don’t expect this matchup to be any different. In 2016, Vancouver committed the second most fouls with 479, and Philadelphia suffered 444 fouls, which tied them for fifth in MLS. Union head coach Jim Curtin said if Vancouver gets into their fast break mindset, that they may have to “make the game a little bit ugly.
