While the matchup between the USMNT and Serbia may have ended in an uneventful scoreless draw, the game was anything but for Philadelphia Union midfielder Chris Pontius, who recorded the first cap of his career.
The Union bolstered its roster this week by signing defender Oguchi Onyewu and midfielders Haris Medunjanin and Fafa Picault. While Onyewu and Picault were Discovery Signings, Medunjanin was signed using Targeted Allocation Money. All three players bring international experience with them to Philadelphia.
On Jan. 31 the players headed the Clearwater, Florida to continue their preseason training and to compete in the Suncoast Invitational.
