We Are One: Academy members continue to progress with three national call-ups, three alums to join Reading

Last week, three Philadelphia Union Academy players traded their blue-and-gold kits for red, white and blue. Matthew Real (Drexel Hill, Pa.) and Anthony Fontana (Newark, Del.) were at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, Calif. for the U.S. Under-18 Men’s National Team Camp. Michael Pellegrino (Wenonah, N.J.) was in Italy with the Under-16 Boys’ National Team for the Tournament Delle Nazione, won by the U.S. a year ago.

In addition, three Academy alums, Brett Campbell, Will Campbell and Billy McConnell will stay within the Union family with PDL affiliate Reading United for the 2016 season. Reading United will kick off their 21st season on the road against local rivals Lehigh Valley United on Saturday, May 14.
