Philadelphia Union Academy grad Zach Zandi converted his second penalty kick of the season to lead Villanova to a 1-0 overtime win over Princeton on Wednesday.
Zandi’s kick from the spot was set up by junior forward Lucas Hodges, who drew a foul just inside the 18 with less than two minutes remaining in the first overtime period. The goal was the second of the season for the sophomore, and the third of the West Chester native’s career.
The overtime win was the first of the season for the Wildcats (5-3-1), which entered the match 0-2-1 in three previous overtime games.
