United States knocked out of FIFA Under-17 World Cup by England

A slow start by the United States let England take a quick two-goal lead and cruise to a berth in the semifinals of the Under-17 World Cup in India.

Rhian Brewster scored three goals and set up Morgan Gibbs-White for another, leading England to a 4-1 win Saturday at Goa.

“We have to do things better in all ways. We have to first of all come out with a different mentality,” U.S. coach John Hackworth said.

Brewster scored in the 11th and 14th minutes, fed Gibbs-White for a 3-0 lead in the 64th and converted a penalty kick in the sixth minute of second-half stoppage time.
