Union romp to 3-0 win over United

Related Topics: Andre Blake, Major League Soccer

Saturday might have been one of the better days in the seven-year history of the Union.

In the afternoon, keeper Andre Blake and rookie defender Keegan Rosenberry were named to the Major League Soccer all-star team, voted in by the fans. Then in the evening, the Union scored a resounding, 3-0 win over rival D.C. United before 18,463 fans at Talen Energy Stadium.

It was the Union's first shutout since a 1-0 win over this same United team May 20, also at home.

Not only did the win move the Union (8-6-5, 29 points) one point behind Eastern Conference leader New York City FC, but it also ended a two-game MLS losing streak, the first time the team had lost consecutive games this season.
