Union drop points in Toronto after taking early lead

Mistakes came back to haunt the Philadelphia Union again on the road Wednesday night in a disappointing 2-2 draw with 13th place Toronto FC at a practically empty BMO Field.

The Union appeared to be well on their way to another lopsided win over the Reds, which they outscored 8-0 in the first two matches this season, when Daniel Gazdag set up captain Alejandro Bedoya for a goal just 32 seconds into the match.

Up 1-0 on the early goal, the Union struggled to find the game and played into the hosts’ game plan but were able to escape several careless turnovers and get to the locker room still up 1-0.
