Philadelphia Union showed a lot of resiliency in their Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Round of 16 match against New York Red Bulls. The club advanced to the quarterfinals after coming from behind to beat the Red Bulls. It was their fourth come from behind victory in Open Cup play in the last three years.
On a night where the starting lineup resembled one that Union head coach Jim Curtin would roll out for a MLS match, it was concerning to see the Union start the first 45 minutes of the match flat. Philadelphia was out-shot 14-1 in the first half, but only trailed 1-0.
