The 2017 NCAA Men's Soccer Tournament heads into the Third Round this weekend after several upsets in the Second Round.
Top-seeded Wake Forest made it through to the next round with a 1-0 win over Columbia. Union Academy product Mark McKenzie played a full 90 minutes in the win, while Joey DeZart and Justin McMaster were brought on as subs for 12 and 22 minutes, respectively. Third-seeded North Carolina knocked off UNC-Wilmington 2-1 and Jack Skahan played 90 minutes, but Will Campbell did not appear in the match. Andrew Aprahamian's ninth-seeded Stanford squad survived University of the Pacific's upset bid in penalties, and Morgan Hackworth played 29 minutes for Adam Najem's alma mater, Akron, as they advanced with a 3-0 win over Seattle University.
