The last two weeks for Philadelphia Union have witnessed some major changes to the team’s roster, headlined by the addition of big names like Alejandro Bedoya and Charlie Davies. Though in the midst of these signings, the Union also managed to make franchise history by reaping the first rewards of their Youth Soccer Academy.
After Auston Trusty was signed to the Union’s first team yesterday, he became the first Union player to have ever graduated every step of Philadelphia homegrown system.
“Being able to grow up in Philly and watch this team grow as a whole entire community and soccer community around Philadelphia, and just watching it get more popular and popular, it amazes me and I am honored to be a part of it,” Trusty said.
