Three Steel players score first pro goals in 4-1 win over Atlanta United 2

Bethlehem Steel halted a five-game winless streak in spectacular fashion on Sunday at home against Atlanta United 2 as three players scored their first professional goals in a dominant 4-1 victory.

Matt Mahoney opened the scoring off a corner kick from Chris Nanco to give the home side an early lead in the 16th minute and 20 minutes later Brenden Aaronson found Aidan Apodaca in the box for the 2018 Philadelphia Union draft pick’s first professional strike.

The goal was a long time coming for Apodaca, who had 48 goals in 68 games for Division 2 California Baptist during his college career.
